The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has cracked a global conspiracy case after arresting six Ukrainian nationals along with one American mercenary for allegedly proving terrorist training along the India-Myanmar border in the North East.

The NIA stated that all the accused had illegally entered India and were allegedly involved in providing training in weapons handling and drone operations in Mizoram-Myanmar border.

According to NIA sources, the investigations revealed that military drones and weapons were being supplied to the locals.

All hardware was procured from Europe and the arrested mercenaries were allegedly imparting training to de-stabilise India.

They were produced before a special NIA court, which remanded all seven accused to 11 days of NIA custody.

The agency is now interrogating them regarding illegal entry into India, arms training, drone operations, and the network involved in drone procurement.

The NIA is also investigating the broader links of the accused to identify any connections with terror organizations or networks, and to determine whether they were involved in training operatives for a larger terrorist module.
