North India is in grip of severe cold wave conditions as minimum temperature in the National Capital fell to 2.9 °C.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an advisory asking old age persons and young children to remain indoors.

On Sunday the 11th of January 2026, parts of Rajasthan recorded sub-zero temperatures.

The IMD added that the current severe cold wave conditions will continue for next few days in north India.

Some places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand also recorded temperatures below zero degrees Celsius and the mercury hovered close to the freezing point in Punjab and Haryana.
