In a major success the Delhi Police Special Cell arrested eight who have been directly connected to terror module of Lashkar-e-Tabia (LeT) and were planning major strikes across multiple locations in the National Capital.

According to police officials, seven among the eight arrested are nationals from Bangladesh were taken into custody after raids conducted across Kolkata in West Bengal and Tiruppur in Tamil Nadu.

What alerted the Police were suspicious movements of key operators when on 8th of February 2026, CISF soldiers posted at the Janpath Metro Station saw pro-Pakistan posters being pasted on the walls.

Thereafter the Special Cell of the Delhi Police which has all the skill-set for anti-terror operations tracked down hideouts at Majherpara, Hatiara Gote in Kolkata, leading to the arrest of Umar Faruk (31) and Robiul Islam (31).Further follow-up raids on February 21 in Tiruppur resulted in the arrest of six more operatives linked to the module.

Searches of the accused persons’ premises led to the recovery of multiple pro-Pak and pro-terror posters, 10 mobile phones containing incriminating material, 25 debit/credit cards, five PoS machines, and Bangladeshi passports and identity documents.

After arrests all accused have been brought to Delhi for further interrogations.
