SIR for voters in UP extended for one month

Specially for the state of Uttar Pradesh, the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Friday the 6^th of February 2026 extended for one month the period for filing claims and objections in connection with the Special Intensive Revision ( SIR) of electoral rolls.

The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of UP, Navdeep Rinwa stated that claims and objections can now be filed until 6^th of March 2026.

It may be recalled that earlier the last date for filing claims and objections under SIR process was expiring on Friday the 6^th February.

The ECI undertook a review of the situation the process.

As per the revised time line, all details of the voter list will be completed by 27^th of March and thereafter the final voters list is expected to be published on 10^th of April 26.
