Specially for the state of Uttar Pradesh, the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Friday the 6th of February 2026 extended for one month the period for filing claims and objections in connection with the Special Intensive Revision ( SIR) of electoral rolls.

The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of UP, Navdeep Rinwa stated that claims and objections can now be filed until 6th of March 2026.

It may be recalled that earlier the last date for filing claims and objections under SIR process was expiring on Friday the 6th February.

The ECI undertook a review of the situation the process.

As per the revised time line, all details of the voter list will be completed by 27th of March and thereafter the final voters list is expected to be published on 10th of April 26.
