The closure of Strait of Hormuz has now crated a cascading effect of shortage of LPG across the nation even as government denied that there is any fuel shortage.

On Thursday the 12th of March 2026, the union petroleum minister Hardeep Puri gave a detailed statement in Lok Sabha stating that there was no shortage of petrol, diesel and kerosene due to the West Asia crisis.
