The famous and historical Delhi Assembly building received a threatening message to blow it up, hours before Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was scheduled to present this year’s annual budget.
According to Delhi Police sources, two emails were received on Tuesday morning the 24th of March 2026, one ar 7.28 am and then again at 7.49 am – this one specially marked to Speaker Vijendra Gupta.
After a thorough search of the area, Police officials stated that they have not found any suspicious material connected to an explosive.
Checks were conducted by different agencies, including the bomb disposal teams, at the Vidhan Sabha, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Raja Banthia said in a statement.
“Nothing suspicious found so far. Necessary police arrangements are in place,” he said.
The email reportedly referred to several high-profile dignitaries, including Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu, CM Gupta and Cabinet minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa.
The Delhi Police sources added that security agencies have launched a probe to trace the origin and route of the email.
