India has strongly condemned the drone strike on the Fujairah Petroleum Industries Zone in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) that left three Indian nationals injured, calling the targeting of civilians and critical infrastructure “unacceptable” and reiterating India’s support for diplomatic efforts to restore stability in the region.
On Tuesday the 5th of May 2026, the Prime Minister in a social media message tweeted on X said, “Strongly condemn the attacks on the UAE that resulted in injuries to three Indian nationals. Targeting civilians and infrastructure is unacceptable.” He added that India “stands in firm solidarity with the UAE” and emphasized the need for “peaceful resolution of all issues through dialogue and diplomacy.”
The PM also emphasised the strategic importance of ensuring uninterrupted maritime movement through the Strait of Hormuz, stating that “ensuring safe and unimpeded navigation… is vital for enduring regional peace, stability and global energy security.”
The alleged drone attack is believed to have originated from Iran that started a fire at the oil facility in Fujairah, a key energy hub on the UAE’s eastern coast.
Earlier the Randhir Jaiswal the Official Spokesperson for the Minister of External Affairs (MEA) issued a statement calling the attack “unacceptable” and urging an “immediate cessation of these hostilities”.
The MEA stated that “targeting of civilian infrastructure and innocent civilians” must stop and reaffirmed India’s longstanding position that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable path to resolving conflicts in the region.
“India continues to stand for dialogue and diplomacy to deal with the situation, so that peace and stability may be restored across West Asia,” the statement said, while also calling for “free and unimpeded navigation and commerce through the Strait of Hormuz in keeping with international law.”
India, which has deep economic and strategic ties with the UAE and depends heavily on energy supplies routed through the Strait of Hormuz, has consistently advocated restraint in the region.
