India has expressed its displeasure against the US President Donald Trump’s anti-India ‘hellhole’ comment.

The Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Randhir Jaiswal issued a statement on Thursday the 23rd of April stating that “the remarks are obviously uninformed, inappropriate and in poor taste”.

It may be recalled that US President had reposted a video of prominent conservative author and radio host Michael Savage, who claimed the current legal system allows immigrants to exploit American laws by arriving in the “ninth month of their pregnancy”.

Trump supporter targeting India and China by calling them “hellhole on the planet”.

Jaiswal said, “We have seen the comments, as also the subsequent statement issued by the US Embassy in response. They certainly do not reflect the reality of the India-US relationship, which has long been based on mutual respect and shared interests.”

In the footage, Trump’s supporter apparently argued that such practices create a loophole where “a baby here becomes an instant citizen, and then they bring the entire family in from China or India or some other hellhole on the planet”.

The footage, originally aired on the Newsmax series The Savage Nation, was reposted by Trump, along with the script of the message.
